MINNEAPOLIS, April 27, 2010 — Wisdom Horse Coaching will host a special demonstration Thursday, May 13, to introduce corporate leaders and decision makers to equine-guided training for leadership and team building. The event will be held 3:30-5:00 p.m. in Inver Grove Heights, Minn., with a registration fee of $25 per person.
“Leaders and teams today are under a lot of pressure to produce and get results faster,” says Ann Romberg, Wisdom Horse founding principal and coach, herself a veteran of corporate life. “Even good leaders can have difficulty dealing with staff conflict and getting everyone to pull in the same direction. Working with horses enhances leadership skills and transforms teams — fast.”
Romberg and Lynn Baskfield, the coaching practice’s other founding principal and co-owner, will lead the demonstration session. Since 2003 they have provided equine-guided training for individuals and organizations in industries that include health care, education, insurance, banking and finance, energy, lumber and hospitality. Their corporate client list includes Fortune 500 companies, as well as small- and medium-sized companies and nonprofits.
Equine-guided training is experiential learning in which leaders and teams interact with horses in ground exercises (no riding) that address specific workplace issues and challenges. Seeing their behavior reflected in horse-human interactions, people gain clarity and return to their jobs with renewed enthusiasm and confidence. They develop insights and problem-solving skills that can be applied immediately.

Baskfield says every session delivers aha moments for participants because a horse is “an honest mirror” and can’t be fooled. “But the horse isn’t judgmental so it’s a completely non-threatening, exhilarating experience. Many people find it easier to learn from a horse because it has no agenda.”
Baskfield and Romberg are certified as life coaches and as equine-guided education coaches. They are members of the Equine Guided Education Association, the International Coach Federation and the Minnesota Coaches Association.
