Business idea for busy coaches

Hi All --
I've been thinking about how to keep my doula business going while I'm also working on my horse coaching apprenticeship. Then I realized that an idea I had for my doula work could also apply to building my coaching business.
So, here are some thoughts: For those of us who aren't already established -- or maybe are, but need a boost. Get people to host horse coaching gatherings or "parties". If some one you know is interested in EGE, ask them to invite 5 or 6 friends to a demo. These must be people who will commit to coming.
The person hosting this get together will provide beverages and snacks, and will be responsible for setting up this portion of the event. He/she will get the people to come. As a gift to the person who's hosting, offer one or two free coaching sessions. There is no obligation for guests to sign up for coaching. However, anyone who signs on for a certain number of sessions within a week of the demo will get a discount on coaching.
This introduces people to EGE. It gives them an opportunity to learn, to be in a positive, no-expectation place with coaching and horses. It helps to increase awareness of our work and it generates word-of-mouth referrals -- which I've found are the best tool for building and maintaining business. It gives people a little bit of savings and money-incentive for signing up.
AND -- here's a big one for me -- you don't spend time chasing people down to get them to come. Delegate that responsibility to some one who values EGE/coaching and who's willing to assemble a demo with a committed group of observers.
These are just thoughts so far -- not anything fleshed out or ready to fly at the moment. Is this an idea that might beneift any of you?

Nora,
What a great idea! Since I HATE doing sales (getting people to sign up for our stuff), this REALLY appeals to me!
Thanks for posting to the Forum!
